The question had been popped! A date has been chosen! A gorgeous venue has been discovered! Now all that is left (for now) is to invite your beloved guests. How should you invite them? That is the question. There are so many routs to go in terms of creative ways to make a memorable wedding invitation. I’ve compiled a lovely list to give you some inspiration! The DIY Invitation It’s personal; it’s adorable… and best of all? It’s affordable! Peruse Pinterest for some inspiration (or even better – templates) and visit your local craft store (or even the dollar store) and gather your supplies! The two above are just adorable! The left couple printed out photo booth style images, which really gives the invites some personality! The couple on the right cut out burlap rectangles, added hemp rope, printed simplistic invites and VOILA! If you’re a sucker for those cute little hearts, just jump on Etsy and type in “wooden happily ever after hearts”. They are only like $7 for a pack of 100! Need tips on how to write a wedding invite? Click HERE. I also came across this perfect DIY video I just HAD to share with you guys. Dream invitation coming right up! Save The Date Video Invitation Do you own a camera, camcorder or a phone? Of course you do! Its 2017 and those things are practically glued to people’s palms! Well take that nifty gadget of yours and put it to creative use by making a hilarious, romantic or cute wedding video. Here are a few samples I found!
You can also go the Stop Motion route and do something like the video below. Don’t worry, stop motion isn’t as hard as one would think. Type in “stop motion” in your app store and download one of the dozens of awesome apps that makes this easy as pie!

Father’s day is Sunday! Some of you are probably trying to come up with some fun family-style activities to make the day extra special! Here are some ideas:
I hope this gave you some inspiration on what activities you can do Sunday! For more Ottawa-Based Family Activities, visit this MATER LIST. In honour of Earth day, we decided to create a fun and informative piece on the ever-growing (excuse the pun) succulent theme. These days, Pinterest seems to be filled with whimsical images of events featuring these unique and colourful plants. People are using them as décor pieces, baked goods designs and even party favours! Not only are these plants aesthetically pleasing, they also have many health related benefits, are environmentally friendly and are natural air filters. If you are wanting to include succulents in your next botanical event, here are a couple of ideas on how you can do it! Party Favour Plants These plants make a wonderful and adorable party favour! Not only will they bring an organic pop of colour to your event’s “favour table”. Even guests who don’t have the greenest thumb in the world can easily partake in the easy care a succulent needs (ie: watered just once a week. I promise you that if I have managed to keep a succulent alive for 6 months, then your guests will be just fine.) You can find some cute signs for your favour table HERE & HERE . You can order already completed favours HERE or you can order succulent clippings (HERE & HERE) and create your own favours using the assorted plants, soil and mini mason jars from the dollar store! You can also create a “planting station” and have your guests build their own succulent terrariums! That is also a great activitie for kids to participate in! Succulent Attire Why not incorporate the plants into your wedding/event attire in the form of boutonnieres, hair clips, floral crowns and, of course, bouquets? There are wonderful shops on Etsy you can find such items! Such as the shops found HERE & HERE Green Thumb Photo Wall Photo walls are starting to be a huge deal for events, which makes sense, considering all the selfies/pictures we like to take. You can create a magnificent photo wall featuring many assorted succulents and plants! You can hang strings air plants and succulents from fishing wire across a backdrop stand (or hang them from a tree) or you can create wooden structures like the ones below! They look like a ton of work, but I guarantee the finished wall will be a big hit at your event and on your designated event hash-tag social page. You can even use these ideas to create a gorgeous wedding alter! That's seriously a Cupcake??! It is CRAZY how talented bakers are! I’ve seen some pretty realistic looking pictures of cupcakes that I originally though was their not-so-yummy live succulent counterpart. The moral is that you can find a local cupcake, cookie and cake designer who can create scrumptious succulents that your guests will love & enjoy! Hopefully they wont accidently mistake a real plant for an edible one though… I assume that would be an unpleasant surprise! Centrepiece Succulent Creations Cody Party can provide you will multiple glass-style-centrepiece bases that you can fill with soil, pebbles and succulents. You can also fill them with water and add floating air plats to the top! Another option is to order large, clear balloons that you can fill with air plants or succulent clippings! Through the use of this botanical-theme design, you can create some soft and elegant centrepieces! Succulent Place Settings Really jazz up your place settings by including a cute little succulent and perhaps a little note featuring your guest's names! You can also forgo a "Favours Table" and place their new baby succulent right on their plate! To view more great Succulent Themed Event Ideas visit our Pinterest page! |
